Practice of peace - part 1 - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog
Practice of peace - part 1 - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog You know, when I planned my trip to the US and planned to fly from DC to Seattle, I was kinda thinking OK, domestic flight, how long can it be 2-3 hours? Well, flying across the US takes five and a half hours! Im now at the Practice of Peace conference, and its quite a far cry from the CEO round table. The round table was at a fancy Marriott hotel here I share a room with two other guys one of whom snores constantly, though fortunately not very loudly. The round table meetings were in your traditional windowless conference room, here its this grand hall with windows, wooden beams and skylights. But notice, that where the luxury hotel had wired internet access in the rooms at $9.95 a day, this place has free wi-fi. Woohoo! The conference is just taking off, but I think I may have overextended myself, and Im afraid Im all conferenced out. Lets see what happens. Oh, I talked briefly to Harrison Owen seems like a very nice person. Thanks for visiting my blog. If you're new here, you should check out this list of my 10 most popular articles. Three ways to prepare your letters of recommendation - Hallie Crawford
Three ways to prepare your letters of recommendation Letters of recommendation are still important steps to the job search process. There is nothing like a third party recommendation to provide support or evidence for your work performance. Here are three ways to prepare your recommendations: On Paper â" Having a letter to hold in your hand can really make a great impression. Keep a hard copy to have on hand for during or after an interview. We get so comfortable with social media and email these days that we easily forget the value of pen and paper. Online â" You want to have a copy that you can access and email quickly. Donât just depend on your hard copy. Keep your recommendations on your computer just in case a digital copy is needed as well. LinkedIn Incorporate your recommendations onto your LinkedIn profile. LinkedIn makes it very easy for your connections to recommend you directly on your profile. Make sure your connections are aware of this feature. This is critical as employers and recruiters are using LinkedIn more and more these days to find employees. Try having as many options to provide recommendations as possible. This could be a crucial step to landing your dream job. Make sure that your recommendations are appropriate and relevant to the job you are applying for. Also remember that having recommendations does not guarantee you will land the job. You can use them as a tool through the interview process but you, as an individual, are still in charge of making an impression that counts. Ideal Career Coach P.S.
